Propel Your Data Protection

- Delivered by Stephens Scown

There is a big change on the horizon for data protection law. The European General Data Protection Regulation (2016) (the GDPR) will impact all businesses- for many it will be a significant shift that needs to be considered now with a view to compliance by 25th May, 2018.

The GDPR will bring far-reaching changes to all businesses and how they collect, process and handle personal data.

The outcome for a business which is GDPR compliant will mean negating the much reported threats, but should also mean a leaner, more efficient ecosystem for data, where each field of data returns a better reward for less work.

As consumers become more and more data conscious, customer-facing businesses will lose a key competitive advantage if they fail to address the GDPR, while data handling businesses may find themselves excluded from a GDPR compliant marketplace.

This session, delivered by Stephens Scown, is specifically designed to guide and assist businesses on their journey to GDPR readiness and compliance with the data protection regime and will focus on:

  • Collecting customer data
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Online customer profiling
  • Data security
  • Showing compliance to the regulator
